Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Hunchwell (“we”, “us”). They cover the Hunchwell app and this website. By creating an account or using Hunchwell, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Who can use Hunchwell

You must be 18 or older, and able to make this agreement where you live. Hunchwell is for your own personal use.

Your account

  • You sign in with a code that we send to your email address.
  • Keep access to your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Tell us right away if you think someone else used your account.

Trial and subscriptions

  • Free trial. We may offer a free trial. The app shows how long it lasts and what it includes.
  • Paid plans. You can subscribe to a paid plan. The app shows the price and what is included before you pay.
  • Free plan. We may offer a free version with fewer features. What it includes can change.
  • Billing. Apple or Google bill you through your App Store or Google Play account. Their terms also apply.
  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew on their own until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own rules.
  • Price changes. If a price changes, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel.

AI features and their limits

  • Hunchwell uses AI to turn your words and photos into entries and to word your readouts. AI can make mistakes.
  • Always check what Hunchwell heard before you tap “Looks right”. Nothing is added to your log until you do.
  • Meal photo results are a best guess. “Not detected in the photo” does not mean a food is free of an allergen. If you have an allergy, check the food yourself.
  • Lab values read from a photo can be wrong. Check them against your report.
  • Patterns and numbers are calculated by code from what you logged. They are only as good as your logs.

Your data

What you put into Hunchwell is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Hunchwell for you, as our privacy policy describes. You can export or delete it at any time.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Hunchwell, with no duty to you.

Using Hunchwell fairly

Do not:

  • use Hunchwell to log data about another person without their permission;
  • try to get into other accounts, our servers, or data that is not yours;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, or use automated tools to pull data from it;
  • use Hunchwell to break the law or to harm anyone.

Other services

Hunchwell can connect to Apple Health, Android Health Connect and, when available, wearables. Those services have their own terms. We are not responsible for the data they send or for how they work.

Our rights in Hunchwell

Hunchwell, its name, the owl and the app's design and code belong to us. We give you a personal licence to use the app while you follow these terms. You cannot transfer this licence.

Ending your use

  • You can stop using Hunchwell and delete your account at any time in the app. Deleting your account deletes your data. It does not cancel a store subscription: cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we will warn you first and let you export your data.

No guarantees

We work hard to make Hunchwell useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is”. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right about any pattern or value.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, unless the law where you live says otherwise. If you have a problem, please contact us first, and we will try to fix it. If we cannot, disputes will be handled by the courts in Florida.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using Hunchwell after that, the new terms apply.
